how do I apply for a job or an internship?
you can apply for a job here.

do I need prior experience of working in a bakery?

we recognise that learning requires the right context, and unfortunately, we don’t currently have the capacity to train new team members from scratch.

can I make a reservation?

our seating capacity is limited and we don’t offer reservations. we only have seating at our locations in oud-west and de pijp.

do you have seating?

yes, we have a few spots for you to sit down with your coffee and pastry. our westerpark location, however, primarily focuses on takeaway.

I have a food allergy: are your products safe for me to eat?

the ingredients that go into our bread and pastries contain many common allergens, from wheat and dairy products to eggs and nuts. while we always take steps to avoid cross-contamination, we cannot guarantee that any of our products are safe to consume for customers with allergies. if you have questions about ingredients and allergens, be sure to ask our staff.

do you have any vegan and gluten-free options?

our morning buns—like our krentenbol—and our sourdough loaves are vegan, but we don’t bake other gluten-free products. our colleagues at craft coffee & pastry have great gluten-free options!

do you have vegan croissants?

no, we use butter (a lot of butter) in our croissants. if you're looking for amazing vegan options, we highly recommend you to check out margo’s or saint jean.

do you serve coffee?

yes, we take coffee just as seriously as we take our bread. we offer a variety of exceptional filter coffees. read more about our coffees on this page.

do you sell pastries?

we focus on bread, but we do offer a great selection of viennoiserie, from croissants to cinnamon rolls.

what does viennoiserie mean?

viennoiserie refers to a category of baked goods made with laminated dough, enriched with ingredients like butter, eggs and milk. These pastries sit between bread and pâtisserie in terms of richness and texture. classic examples include croissants, pain au chocolat, danish pastries and brioche.

fun fact: the term comes from vienna, austria, but the techniques were perfected and popularised in france.

are your products halal?

we are almost halal! we’re always looking for great alternatives to replace non-halal ingredients—like turning our ham and cheese croissant into a halal and cheese croissant. stay tuned!

can I bring my dog inside?

yes, well-behaved dogs are always welcome!

can I pre-order bread?

we’re working on an online ordering system. for now, you can email info@bakkerijlouf.nl to request an order, but we can only accommodate special cases.

do you deliver?

we work with a delivery partner: please email your request to info@bakkerijlouf.nl. we will try to answer as soon as possible.

do you ship bread and other products abroad?

we don’t ship our baked goods or merchandise abroad.

do you wholesale (B2B) your bread?

yes, we supply a number of cafés and restaurants across amsterdam. if you're interested in working with us, reach out to order@bakkerijlouf.nl, or read more here.

what goes into your bread?

water, flour, a pinch of salt and a whole lot of patience and craftsmanship.

do you slice your bread?

our bread is different from most. it has an 80% hydration ratio—meaning we add 80g of water for every 100g of flour. this gives it its signature texture and flavour while keeping it fresh for longer. even after a few days, a quick reheat in the oven brings it back to life.

this high hydration makes our bread too delicate for slicing machines, as the dough would stick to the blades: our loaves are best sliced at home!

what's the best way to keep your bread fresh?

ideally, in a bread box. alternatively, store in a paper bag—or simply with the cut side of the loaf facing down on a cutting board, covered with a tea towel. unsliced loaves last longer than sliced ones—several days for wheat loaves and almost a week for rye.

for the longest shelf life, store your bread in the freezer. you can use one of our paper bags or pick up a reusable freezer bags, available in our stores.

do you sell gift cards?

gift cards are available for purchase in-store and can be redeemed at any of our locations.

do you have a loyalty program?

yes! we have stamp cards. collect stamps with your purchases and enjoy rewards along the way. ask for one in-store!

can I pitch a collaboration with louf?

from time to time, we partner up with the brands we love and the initiatives that resonate with our story. to propose a collaboration, send an email to info@bakkerijlouf.com

do you host private events or workshops?

we don’t currently host workshops at louf, but if you’re interested in hosting an event at one of our locations, please reach out to info@bakkerijlouf.com to see what’s possible.

what do you do with leftover bread?

we aim never to throw away a loaf of bread, striving to ensure that every loaf finds its way to a mouth. to make this happen, we work with two great initiatives that pick up any unsold bread:

every tuesday, mothers from the westerpark neighborhood come together to cook warm, nourishing meals for people in need. our bread plays a small part in these meals, offering a valuable sense of comfort and stability to those who need it most.

every saturday, buurtbuik repurposes food that would otherwise go to waste, preparing meals for the community. it’s about more than just saving food—it’s about bringing people together, creating moments of connection and turning surplus into something meaningful.
